Reminiscent of Edouard Manet's "Olympia', "Reclining artist' is a limited edition of 58 etching in Perry's unique aesthetic of clashing, saturated colours and flat, juvenile perspective.
A self portrait with added breasts belonging to his alter-ego, Clare, Perry reclines on the sofa with his cat, Kevin beside him. Surrounded by objects reflecting his life and work as an artist as well as other cultural references such as a book on architect Zara Hadid to a copy of Viz magazine.
Speaking about the piece Grayson says, 'Reclining Artist is both an idealized fantasy and also the messy reality. It is perhaps me expressing my desire to be a sex object and also show off my cultural capital and boyish paraphernalia'.
