This piece was created exclusively for Enter Gallery's 2021 show, Chasing the Sun.
Speaking of how he interpreted the theme in this piece, Kettle reveals:
"I've painted the roses in the usual cool shaded atmosphere with a feeling that they're growing towards and searching for light and a faint but distant 'Sun'. I wanted the power and drama of sunlight to infiltrate the shade and somehow liberate the roses, to inject hope; light shining through the darkness, perhaps as a metaphor for these times, and indeed all times."
From a limited edition of 50, the piece is signed and numbered by the artist.
