'Rose Study 12 - Quest for light'Ā is my personal response to the themeĀ Chasing the Sun.Ā I've painted the Roses in the usual cool shaded atmosphere with a feeling that they're growing towards and searchingĀ forĀ light and a faint but distant 'Sun'. I wanted the power and drama of sunlight to infiltrate the shadeĀ and somehow liberate the Roses and to inject hope; light shining through the darkness, perhaps as a metaphor for these times, and indeed all times.Ā
This artwork has been created exclusively for Enter Gallery'sĀ first show of 2021 'ChasingĀ The Sun'.
