Sangarius II is a rare, signed, limited edition 24 colour silkscreen print with satin glaze and UV varnish by Donald Hamilton Fraser RA.
This abstract work is named for the Sangarius river in Turkey. Fraser takes as inspiration for this piece the Greek Mystery religions of the 1st century, deriving from wall painting and jewellery of that period. Fraser was working in this style in the early 1960s, reminding us of his roots as an abstract painter.
