Skateboards, Set Of Three, 2022

Gavin Mitchell is a London-based artist who reworks found objects to explore the relationship between East and West. Working with collage, photography and print, Mitchell takes the observer on a journey of discovery, testing preconceptions along the way. 

This triptych of skateboards depicts the geishas we see across Mitchell’s oeuvre, embodying the Japanese proverbial principle, ‘See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.’

Each of the skateboards is created with printed shrink wrap on popsicle board and hand finished with gold lead and red foil. From a limited edition of 35, the piece is signed by the artist.
