Slim Aarons is an American photographer known for capturing (in his own words) ‘attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places.’ His stylish, sun-drenched photography of high society continues to inspire, and has informed fashion collections from Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith and Jay Z. 

Slim Aarons: The Essential Collection is one of the most comprehensive collections of the photographer’s work. The book spans his time as a war photographer and his early days in Hollywood to his years travelling the world for Holiday and Town & Country magazines.  

The book features a biographical essay written by the supervisor of Aarons’ image archive, Shawn Waldron. The essay covers key moments in the photographer’s career alongside personal insights from close associates, including his former assistant and Vanity Fair contributing editor, Nick Foulkes.
