Solitude & Liberty - Hand-Finished

Solitude & Liberty is a hand-finished Giclee print by Brighton-based artist, Richard Berner.

In Solitude and Liberty, Berner explores the idea of subjective interpretation. His horse is captured rearing, which some may see as a symbol of triumph, and others might interpret as fright. He explains: 

“I’m interested in the sentiment that we don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are.”

This is another of Berner's works to be crafted entirely from a meticulously-hand-drawn cast of little figures, that he calls 'Champs.' It is a wonderful example of Berner's talent for creating intricate pieces that sing with unexpected details.

This limited edition of 20 giclee print is hand-finished with 24c gold leaf on 330gsm Somerset Paper with hand-torn edges. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist.
