Gavin Mitchell is a London-based artist who reworks found objects using photography, collage and print, to explore the relationship between East and West.
This piece is from Mitchell’s Fourth Wall series, in which he creates new narratives by juxtaposing vintage postcards with black and white film stills from classic B-movies of the fifties and sixties.
In Sons of Reno, Mitchell expertly combines his movie still and vintage postcard to create a scene that makes it look like the couple are walking from the countryside into the hyper-real city of Reno.
