Stealth Kate
Following the success of his series, The Complete Marbles, featuring sculptures of people with disabilities, Quinn created his Sphinx series, a collection of sculptures of Kate Moss in contorted yoga poses.
The series explores the idea of the supermodel as an idol who is more of a cultural hallucination rather than a person of actual flesh and blood. Quinn was drawn to Moss because of her place in society as someone who is admired and observed, but about whom we have very little actual knowledge.
This print, Stealth Kate, was created for Wallpaper Magazine's annual Handmade exhibition. Quinn selected digital printing for the image of his Sphinx sculpture, as it accentuates the colours and shades of the image. Diamond dust was chosen as the background to provided contrast to the clean, detailed image of Kate Moss.
The print is from a limited edition of 75, signed by the artist.
