Whether it's the most famous faces in the world, or imagined characters, portraiture has been a staple fixture of Peter Blake's work since the 1950s.

Blake's Tattooed People Collection features intricate watercolour portraits of heavily-inked men and women, and revisits one of the artist's favourite areas of interest: the circus, fairground and the side-show attraction. Betty shows of her back tattoos, which consist of a series of female faces, surrounding the Virgin Mary.
