The Curves Of Your Lips Rewrite History II
Cassandra Yap is a London-based artist whose work centres on the juxtaposition between darkness and beauty. Often infused with a surreal edge, Yap’s provocative work is inspired by her obsession with the female form and vintage pin-up girls.
This piece is inspired by the Oscar Wilde quote, ‘the curves of your lips rewrite history’. It’s a homage to women who have altered the course of history, and who continue to change the world. Look a little closer and you’ll see images of the likes of Anne Frank and Vivienne Westwood used to create the glisten of the lips.
This two-colour silkscreen print is from a limited edition of 100, signed and numbered by the artist.
Size (cm): 50 x 70
