The Palace of San Abruzzo
The Palace of San Abruzzo features Edwards’ Star Eyed Skull motif, which draws on a number of references from recent art history including Harvey Ball's Smiley Face, Keith Haring's Radiant Baby and Kaws’ X-eyed Mickey.
Edwards developed his skull motif as a gender and racially neutral Pop emblem that, “represents the mind floating through the world while the world floats through the mind."
The skull is a universal motif used to acknowledge our shared experience. Edwards depicts it in neon to symbolise how science, knowledge and art illuminate our lives.
This original painting is created with acrylic on canvas, and comes signed by the artist.
This piece is one of a set of three artworks with Penthouse Condo and Prometheus Surveying The World. The three pieces can be hung together as a triptych or as individual artworks.
