Travel Card Map

This to-scale map of London is made from 5,000 travelcards that artist, Vicky Steane collected while traversing the capital between 2000-2010.

The Travel Card Map is also geographically accurate. Look closer and you’ll see that Steane has depicted all of London’s green spaces, residential areas, government buildings, sports grounds – even all of the major A-roads make an appearance!

Also, the piece captures a London of years gone by. The travelcards represent a pre-Oyster card era, and the map depicts London prior to the 2012 Olympic Games, which saw significant redevelopment of East London.
