Featuring ancient mythological beings, anatomical drawings, dream imagery and religious iconography, Dan Hillier is known for working with composite images and 19th-century engravings to create captivating, mystical works, blending Surrealism and Neo-Victoriana.

In 2016/17 Dan Hillier exhibited Vine as part of a new body of work in a solo exhibition at Saatchi Gallery, titled Ceremony. Following experiences with the psychedelic plant medicine ayahuasca in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest, Hillier's Vine explores the realms of imagination, plant medicine ceremonies, a fascination with nature and the mysteries of uncharted territory.
