Weaver

Marcelina Amelia is a contemporary artist known for works that explore female empowerment, self-acceptance and representations of sexuality. 

Weaver is Amelia’s portrait of the late Ruth Bader Ginsberg - the second woman in history to sit on the US Supreme Court, where she held her position for 27 years.

During those years, Bader repeatedly made history, fighting tirelessly for women’s rights and in support of same-sex marriage. Amelia has embroidered Ginsberg’s robes with her most iconic quote, ‘Women belong in all places where decisions are being made.’
