You Can Be Anything, Framed Original

This piece is from Richard Berner’s 2023 solo show at Enter Gallery, You Can Be Anything (*or Nothing). The show is a humorous exploration of the ambiguity of art and its capacity to mean everything to one person, and absolutely nothing to the next.

In this piece, Berner dives into the idea of the critic, both inner and outer, and how our constant pursuit of approval could be the root of all our turmoil. He explains:

“There’s a loneliness to this piece. It presents the idea that we feel alone and isolated in this thought, when in fact, many of us feel the same thing, have the same insecurities, and worry about the same things.”

This original artwork is created with ink and gouache on paper, and comes signed by the artist.

Please note this piece is framed in a 20mm black box frame with a 3cm float mount and regular glass.
