You So

Mike Edwards' You So features a stylised skull composed of just four lines. The piece draws on a number of references from recent art history: Harvey Ball's Smiley Face, Keith Haring's Radiant Baby, Kaws’ X-eyed Mickey and Edward Munch’s Scream.

The skull is a universal motif used to acknowledge our shared experience. You So’s tribal depiction combines neon to lend the piece a contemporary edge. Edwards explains:


"I wanted the skull motif to be a symbol of a thoughtful and illuminated mind. That’s why it’s lit up. An illuminated mind is an open mind and if more of us floated through the world with that, we would all be more progressive”.

This hand-finished original piece on canvas is created with acrylic paint, fluorescent pigments and UV varnish. It comes signed by the artist.
