Z is for Zebra

Since his career began in the 1950s, Sir Peter Blake has been prolific, creating paintings, collage, typography and more inspired by his fascination with popular culture. Blake’s impact on the face of contemporary art is so significant, he is now known as the ‘Godfather of Pop Art.’ 

This piece hails from Blake's 1991 Alphabet Series, which is inspired by people and objects who've made their mark on British popular leisure culture.

In Z for Zebra, Blake has gathered a trio of zebra images to represent the final letter of the alphabet.

This silkscreen print is from a limited edition of 95, signed and numbered by the artist.
